Terms of Use

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Reality Play (an independent venture founded and operated from India by Lakshya Gupta), not with Apple. By downloading or using SelfLink you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms supplement the Reality Play site-wide Terms of Use; where they conflict, these SelfLink-specific terms control.

Not a medical or mental-health service

SelfLink is a journaling and self-reflection app. It is not a medical device, a mental-health service, or a healthcare provider, and it does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind. The AI companion is a software feature — it is not a therapist, psychologist, or medical professional, and nothing it produces is medical or psychological advice.

SelfLink is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are experiencing a mental-health condition, are in distress, or are in crisis, please contact a licensed mental-health professional, a doctor, or a local crisis helpline immediately. If you believe you may harm yourself or others, contact local emergency services right away.

You agree that you use SelfLink for personal reflection and general wellbeing only, and that you will not rely on it for medical or mental-health decisions.

AI-generated content

SelfLink's reflections, insights, indicators, and companion conversations are generated by an on-device AI model. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation, and may not reflect your actual psychological state. AI-generated indicators and insights are informal, non-clinical observations produced by software — they are not assessments, screenings, or diagnoses. Use your own judgment, and do not treat any AI output as professional advice.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SelfLink on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) applies to the extent these terms do not cover something.

Your content

Your journal entries, reflections, companion conversations, and other personal content are stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You own your content; we claim no rights to it and never receive it. Because your data never leaves your device, you are responsible for backing it up — if you delete the app or lose your device, we have no way to recover your data.

Free of charge

SelfLink is currently free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, they will be clearly marked and these terms will be updated first.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where the law permits it; not to extract, copy, or redistribute the bundled AI model; not to use the app for any unlawful purpose; and not to misrepresent the app or its output as a medical or mental-health service.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, artwork, and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. The on-device AI model is provided by Liquid AI and used under license. These terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or content beyond using the app.

Disclaimer of warranties

SelfLink is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI-generated content will be accurate or beneficial, or that the app will improve your wellbeing. Use of the app is at your sole risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the app — including any claim arising from reliance on AI-generated content. Because the app is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to fifty U.S. dollars (USD 50). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you — nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

Apple-specific terms

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection law. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of SelfLink is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India. Nothing in this section deprives you of protections granted by mandatory law in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always appears here with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
